USE OF T SECTION:
Rolled steel T section – steel load-bearing structure of T-shaped cross-section. Also used as metal T beam, T steel or T bar.
The top of the T Section functions as a flange to resist compression stress, and the bottom part is used to resist shearing force. In comparison to a I beam, the T-section has the disadvantage of not having the lower flange that supports traction forces.
Due to new manufacturing technologies, from using the rolled T section as secondary element, we started using it as main element of the resistance structures. The steel grade of which it is made allows very easy processing for mechanical deformation and welding.
