The flat bar is a metallurgical product with very broad industrial and civil applications as raw material for various metal works and constructions.

The hot-rolled steel flat bar has rounded edges and it is used more in metal works and constructions. The cold drawn flat bar has perfectly straight edges and it is used mainly for the construction of parts in areas where highly accurate parts are required (guide rails, axle blades).

Flat bar

The flat bar can be easily cut, drilled and also welded. Depending on the application where the flat bar is used, one can choose between various sizes and material classes. It is also known as wide steel, hot-rolled band – BLC or wide drawn steel.

It is in the form of steel band of various thicknesses (3 to 50 mm) and widths (10 to 400 mm) obtained by the hot-rolling process or by the cold-pressing process.
