Running track frame for the radioactive source storage door made of metallurgical products.

Steel is a very resistant and versatile metal, used for the manufacture of a wide range of products.

Also, the clients for whom we supply metallurgical products use them for the most diverse applications.

One of them makes closing systems for rooms storing radioactive sources.

When carrying out this project, a door attached to a frame with a metallic track was chosen.

It is very important that this type of door falls within the limits imposed by the radioactivity category of the respective unit.

The access door is clearly marked with the „Danger of radiation” symbol and is equipped with an automated closing system.

This type of deposit must have a high stability to seismic events. Therefore, its construction will be carried out in an area as safe as possible from these events, in order to ensure a longer period of time.

Storage is done only in specially arranged rooms, where other products are not stored.

Delivered products for the frame of the track, the door, the warehouse, radioactive sources

– UNP 180 mm – door frame;

– UNP profile 220 mm – track frame;

– platband 80×10 mm; 80 x 8 mm; 60 x 6 mm and 40 x 6 mm used for gussets, wall brackets and door stops.

For this work, UNP profiles were used as a rigid base for the construction of different frames. A U profile is a reliable and economical material with high resistance.

Depending on the application for which the platband is used, you can choose between different sizes and classes of material. The flat band can be easily cut, drilled and also welded.

Due to the fact that the steel’s resistance to compression is equal to its tensile strength, it gives this material very good properties in operation.
