Use of S275 brand round steel

S275 rolled round steel is mainly used in the metal construction industry, for the production of component parts of metal structures.

Steel Welding S275

Being a low-carbon steel, it can be easily welded without additional preparations. It must be taken into account to prevent the appearance of cold cracks in large diameter steels, as a result of welding. Depending on the product executed, the appropriate measures will be taken for controlled cooling after welding for stress relief.

Corrosion Resistance of S275 Rolled Steel

S275 round steel is a steel with a low corrosion resistance.

Depending on the end use of the product, the best protection option, if possible, is hot-dip galvanizing according to EN1461. This process ensures a good resistance to the action of corrosive agents over time.

If the final product does not allow the round bar to pass through the molten zinc bath, then other methods of anti-corrosion protection will be chosen, e.g. oiling, priming/painting, etc.

• Production standard: EN 10025/2; STAS 500/2-89;
• The surface appearance of round steel is mentioned in: EN 10221/96, class A/B;
• Possible delivery diameters: Ø10 – Ø400 mm;
• Manufacturing lengths: 4000 – 6200 mm;
• Size and shape tolerances are set out in: EN 10060;
• US control: on request, for a fee, according to EN 10308 class 2/3;
• Manufacturer-issued inspection certificate: type 2.2 or 3.1 according to EN 10204.
