Mechanically prefinished and galvanized UNP profile

Recently, a client asked us for a 40x20x5 mm mechanically processed and galvanized UNP profile, which he used to stiffen the wooden tops of the tables used in a restaurant.

Mechanically processed UNP profile – its processing and galvanizing

All processing operations of UNP profiles were carried out before galvanizing in order not to damage the zinc layer.

For this profile, we made the following processings:

– mechanical cutting to size, paying great attention not to bend the ends;

– drilling on the milling cutter (oval hole);

– countersinking performed on the milling cutter so that the screw is buried in the profile;

– anti-corrosion protection: galvanizing.

For this project, the galvanized UNP laminated profile, with elongated fixing holes, was cut to the following dimensions:

– 126 bars with a length of 0.85 m;

– 54 bars with a length of 0.66 m.

Galvanizing is an effective method of using zinc to protect steel against corrosion for very long periods of time. The corrosion resistance of galvanized products is influenced both by the type and thickness of the protective zinc layer, as well as by the corrosive environment to which the products are subjected. Depending on the final destination, the density/thickness of the zinc layer is chosen.

The use of galvanized UNP profiles offers multiple advantages to constructions, such as: no additional maintenance costs, great durability in corrosive environments, they are 100% recyclable, etc.

A galvanized UNP profile is used in various commercial and industrial applications, such as: warehouses, stadiums, architectural structures, industrial halls, civil constructions, etc.

Manufacturing tolerances: EN 10034.

Galvanizing standard: EN 1461.
