World crude steel production increased by 1.4% in August 2014
World crude steel production for August 2014 was 135Mt, an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period last year, according to data provided by 65 countries that reported to the World Steel Association.
They recorded increases in crude steel production in August 2014 compared to August 2013:
China 1.0%, Japan 2.2%, India 5.2%, South Korea 8%, Turkey 13.9%, Russia 5.8% and USA 2.9%;
On the other hand, in Europe, crude steel production decreased;
Germany -1%, France -9.1%, Italy -0.8%. The biggest drop in crude steel production in 2014 was recorded in Ukraine -37%.
