Ukraine’s revenues from the export of ferrous metals decreased in Q1 of 2015

In the January-March period, in Ukraine, the revenues of companies from the export of ferrous metals decreased by 36.3%, up to 2214.45 million dollars, compared to last year.

Iron products accounted for 23.41% of total export earnings, down from 24.5% in the previous year. In March, the export of ferrous metals brought Ukraine 825.06 million dollars and 642.55 million dollars in February.

At the same time, Ukraine imported ferrous metals, in Q1, worth 140.48 dollars, including 42.47 million dollars in March.

Exports of metal products from Ukraine decreased by 36.5%, up to 250.09 million dollars, in Q1 of 2015. During this time, imports of metal items decreased by 48.4% compared to the previous year.

In the first quarter of this year, Ukraine imported coal and anthracite worth 405.23 million dollars. The main suppliers of coal to Ukraine, in Q1, were Russia, the United States of America and South Africa.

The export of coal and anthracite reached 8,300,000 dollars in the January-March period. In April, Ukraine intends to extract approximately 500 thousand tons of coal from the mines located in the occupied territories of Donbass.
