Steel drawn pipes for bitumen routes

For one of the works of the Strabag company we delivered steel drawn pipes, valves and flanges.

Strabag is one of the main construction companies in Europe and market leader in Central and Eastern Europe. It has been operating on the Romanian market since 1991 and operates in all construction sectors. Especially Transport Infrastructure, Construction and Civil Engineering segments, as well as in environmental construction projects.

Steel drawn pipes

The pipes supplied by H Metal were used for bitumen routes – 89 mm drawn pipe and 114 mm drawn oil sheath for heating oil flow.

The material was presented in good condition, with remarkable weldability.

The valves with manual shut-off have been mounted on the same pipes and are used to close/open bitumen circuits.

Steel drawn pipes – advantages and characteristics

The biggest advantage of seamless steel pipes is their increased ability to withstand pressure. Being equally resistant on the entire circumference of the pipe.

It is also much easier to determine pressure calculations without having to consider the quality of the weld.

Another advantage of drawn pipes is that they work well in harsh conditions, which means that they can be used in very cold or hot environments.

Standards of delivery according to:

EN 10210 – 1

EN 10216 – 1 Seamless steel pipes used under pressure. Technical delivery conditions. Part 1: Non-alloy steel pipes with specified characteristics at ambient temperature.

EN 10297 – 1 The standard sets out the technical delivery conditions for seamless circular pipes made of non-alloy and alloy steel for use in general mechanical engineering and machine building.

Steel Grade: S355J2H, St52.0, Grade A, Grade B

Quality certificate: according to EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1B

We quickly deliver drawn pipe (seamless pipe) made of steel according to European standards.
